In February 2007, I was tired of feeling tired all the time. I weighed 288 lbs and had a body fat percentage that was off the charts. I knew I had to make some choices….life choices! I had to decide if I wanted to stay on the path to sickness, or take back my life and become a healthier, happier me. It makes sense, doesn’t it, I mean, what would you choose?
I’m happy to say I chose to make the right changes to bring me good health, energy, and a new lease on life! I joined a gym and started kickboxing and spin classes. I also incorporated a weight-training regimen into my workouts.
But one of the most important things I did was to change my eating habits; I started making healthier food choices including going grain free…
My weight began to drop, I had way more energy, and I felt much better about myself. My journey hasn’t always been easy, but I can truly say it has been worth every step!
Today I weigh 185 lbs (103 lbs weight loss), have a resting heart rate of 62, and my total body fat is 14%! My cholesterol is dramatically lower to where it is not a concern anymore. And one of the best rewards for my life-style change is that diabetes is not even an issue!
