Ep. 80 – Metabolic Profiling: Learn How to Unlock Your Metabolism – with Angelo Poli

The New Year is upon us, and that means resolutions. Every year, the most common resolution is weight loss, but only 64 percent of people last beyond January and only 46 percent of people last longer than six months.

I think this is partly because we live in a world of instant gratification. There are so many diet fads out there promising you’ll lose weight, and you have all sorts of MLMs selling products with claims that seem impossible (because they probably are). But I think you know as well as I do that there is no magic pill or guarantee that what works for one person will work for another. 

So where does one begin who wants to make lasting changes? To help answer that question, I sat down with Angelo Poli. 

Angelo is an internationally recognized expert in fitness and nutrition and the founder of MetPro, the world’s first algorithm-based transformation engine. Angelo has been featured for his specialty in Neuromuscular Re-education (Posture and Alignment) and weight loss sciences in major media outlets, he is a regular contributor for The Huffington Post, and he serves as a Wellness Consultant for multiple universities and hospitals around the country.

One of the reasons I was drawn to Angelo’s work is that you don’t need a huge budget or professional trainers to make it work because it’s all curated to you as a person. This is because MetPro uses a process called “Metabolic Profiling,” which analyzes your metabolism and provides an individualized approach to obtaining your health goals. 

It all starts with a series of tests, each one designed to uncover details about your personality, genetics, lifestyle, and metabolism. Participants are then paired with a transformation coach that is matched to their lifestyle, who is able to capture even more valuable data that is used to further refine your transformation plan. And that all happens within 72 hours of starting the program.

I appreciate that this process rejects all of the fads and embraces both real science and individualized data points to create a plan that works for one specific person. And if the plan isn’t working, they are able to adapt it instead of just giving up or telling you to push harder. I think this is the way a lot of health and nutrtion stuff is going, but it’s incredible to see that science has already made this possible and accessible to regular people.
