Ep. 94 – Informed Consent + Real Food: How to Take Control of Your Health – with Michele Stanford

Michele Stanford believes that living life nourished means nourishing all aspects of life: bathing our hearts and minds in truth and, in turn, nourishing our bodies with healing, wholesome foods the way God intended, as well as practicing the important task of self-care.

After years of suffering from her own health issues for which conventional medicine could not provide answers, Michele took back her power, spending thousands of hours researching to find answers and solutions. A functional approach to health was the key that enabled her healing journey.

Michele’s functional approach to health begins with teaching her clients about the root cause of dysfunction and guiding them to incorporate lifestyle changes that will support improved function within their bodies. She works with individuals who have autoimmune conditions (including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, and gut dysfunction), focusing on hormone balance, gut health, nutrient sufficiency, cellular detoxification, and maximizing the ability of the body to bring balance to the physical and emotional needs of the client. Michele supports her clients through the use of functional lab testing and one-on-one sessions. 

Michele maintains continuing education in different areas of health with a focus on whole-body wellness. She is a graduate of The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, completed her certification as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, with Function Diagnostic Nutrition®.

Michele is also the author of “Informed Consent: Critical Truths Essential to Your Health and the Health of Future Generations”, which is a crazy good book!

Combing medical and historical research, this book details what happened to our healthcare and food systems to transform them into… well, systems that don’t make people healthier or produce a lot of real food.

So, in this interview, we delve into the link between our food and our health, what is going on with our healthcare system today, and what we can do to make our healthcare and food systems better — not just for us but for future generations.
