In February of 2007, I weighed 288 lbs and my waistline was out of control. My doctor had diagnosed me with metabolic syndrome, the same disease that had taken my father years before.
I had to decide if I wanted to stay on the fast track to sickness (with a hefty dose of medication), or take back my life, lose some weight, and avoid ending up in the hospital (or worse).
I’m happy to say I chose to make a change.
I started hitting the gym. Kickboxing, spin classes, and weight-training became regular parts of my life.
But the most important thing I did was change my eating habits. I focused on a whole-foods, grain-free way of eating that supported my health, without depriving me of everything I loved.
The healthier food choices and exercise regimen I committed to helped me see immediate results.
My weight began to drop.
My energy levels shot up.
And I felt better about myself than I had in years.
Today I’ve lost 103 pounds.
My cholesterol is no longer a concern.
And I’m no longer at risk from diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
My journey hasn’t always been easy, but I can truly say it’s been worth all the effort!

My weight loss journey started off horrible. I was a senior in high school and weighed 340 pounds. That was my highest weight I have ever been in 2008. Since then I have struggled with weight loss. I was always wanting to exercise and look good but didn’t have the energy and I would never lose weight.
I met Thom through a rescue group we were both apart of. He told me he was working on a weight loss program and wanted to help me. I was super crazy at this point in my life but knew I had to buckle down and lose weight. I had gastric sleeve in July of 2015 and after surgery I knew I would need help focusing and being accountable for my food intake and I needed a strong support system.
Thom jumped right in a researched all my needed after surgery. He was more helpful and knowledgeable than the nutritionist.
