Plank Fish

Basic recipe for using a Plank to cook fish on the Grill

Ingredients

  • 1 Maple OR Alder wood plank
  • 1-2 White flaky fish of your choice, OR salmon works great, too

Instructions

  • Submerge plank with water and soak for one hour. (This can be done in your kitchen sink!) Meanwhile, prepare your grill to 350 degrees. Rinse fish and pat dry. Place fish on plate. Remove plank from water. Take the fish and plank out to your grill. Put plank on grill for about 3 minutes, without the fish. Using tongs, turn the plank over and then place the fish on the plank. Close the grill and cook for 15 minutes. Check for doneness by pulling fish at its thickest part to see that it is cooked through. Your fish will be extremely moist and flavorful, all from the plank! Remove plank and fish from grill and using a spatula, remove fish from plank. Serve immediately
